Serombotan is my firstchoice for my culinary trip to eastern Bali area, particularly in Klungkung Regency. This traditional delicacy is Klungkung’s signature dish, contains of various steamed vegetable such as water spinach, long beans, bitter gourds, eggplant and bean sprouts, all mixed with shredded coconut cooked with Sambal, uyah tabia sere, topped with peanuts. It cost about IDR 10.000 for one portion of Serombotan, served on plate with banana leaves as its base, Kerupuk (Indonesia traditional chips) and Ketupat as side dish.

Another thing that keeps appealing me to come and explore Klungkung Regency is Pesingahan culinary. Pesingahan is coastal area located on the west side of Goa Lawah Temple. One of the most famous food tavern in Pesinggahan will be Warung, offering various kind of Tuna dishes, each portion of this signature Pesinggahan dish consist of fish sate, fish soup, fish in banana leaves, spicy water spinach, fried peanuts, Sambah Matah and steamed rice. What differentiate Warung with other food tavern will be its fish soup. Using Balinese Base Genep, complete Balinese spicy, the combination between spicy and sweat taste in the thick soup is perfect. Open daily from8 am until 6 pm. You will only need to spend IDR 60.000 for a portion of complete dish here, so affordable.
